Planning a spring getaway? Whether you’re heading to Malta (like me) or somewhere equally sunny, packing doesn’t have to mean chaos or compromise. As a stylist and woman in her 60s, I’ve learned that traveling light doesn’t mean dressing dull.

This 16-piece travel capsule – plus a few carefully chosen accessories – is what I’m packing for a week in Malta. Stylish. Comfortable. Mix-and-matchable, but with enough variety that I’ve got choices – I’m no minimalist and it’s a holiday after all, you don’t need to compromise!

What I’m Packing for Malta (Late May Travel)

Here’s the full 16-piece list—plus the accessories that pull everything together.

Daytime Style Staples

• 2 pairs of shorts (but take crop trousers or skirts if shorts aren’t you)
  Linen or structured cotton in soft neutrals
• 1 pair of linen trousers
  Light, airy, pull-on or elastic waist
• 1 flowy midi skirt
  Bonus: doubles for dinner with metallic flats
• 3 tops
  Sleeveless or cap sleeve, mix cotton with soft viscose
• 1 linen shirt
  Doubles as a jacket and a beach cover up
• 1 versatile dress
  Throw on + go; can layer with accessories or a wrap or dress up for evening
• 1 lightweight linen knit
  To cover arms (for visiting churches) or chillier evenings

Evening Looks

• 2 dinner dresses
  • 1 printed
  • 1 floaty/feminine for a special night out
• 1 pair of printed trousers
  Dress up or down
• 1 extra skirt
  For variety with tops above
• 2 elevated tops
  Think silk, lightweight shimmer, or a strappy style (that still works with a bra)

• Flat sandals (stylish + walkable) I’ve gone with tan to go with everything
